Hangout Group Chat- Hangout is a social media network that allows you to send text messages and make calls for free. With hangout, you can text up to 150 hangout users and make conference calls with 10 users at the same time. This amazing feature of Hangout is called hangout group chat. Hangout group chat can be hosted by anybody, it’s is a platform that allows more than two people to interact at the same time on the same page.
It allows communication is different forms, either by voice notes or voice calls, video calls, and text. You can use any of these methods of communication in both hangout private chats and hangout group chat. All formats of media and documents can also be sent to fellow hangout user.
Also, Hangout is inbuilt to other Google services like YouTube, Google+, Gmail and even Google voice. It automatically comes with most android phones, it’s also available on iOS and there’s also a web version of hangout.
HANGOUT GROUP CHAT – HOW TO CREATE A GROUP CHAT
Before you start a hangout group chat there must be an admin, that is a host, someone who created and started the group chat. To create a group chat, do as follows;
- Launch the hangout app on your device
- Tap on the + button at the bottom of the screen
- Tap on new conversation then new group chat
- Enter the names or mobile number or email address of people you want in the group chat.
- Click on done.
With these five easy steps, you can host a group chat of 150 users. You can later add other people to your group chat or remove them at your will.
HANGOUT GROUP CHAT – HOW TO ADD PEOPLE TO A GROUP CHAT
After a hangout group chat has been created you can still add more users not exceeding the 150 users limit.
There are two ways to add people to hang out group chat
- BY SENDING AN INVITATION LINK
- Launch the hangout app
- Select the group chat you want to add more people to
- Tap the options button at the top of the screen (3 vertical dots), then tap on people
- Tap on join by link, a group link will be generated and all members of the group will be notified. Any group member can share the link with anyone.
- TO ADD BY NAME, PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL
- Launch the hangout app
- Select the group chat you want to add more people to
- Tap the options button at the top of the screen then tap on people
- Tap on add people, enter the mobile number, name or email address of who you want to add to the group then click on done.
Each time a new member joins the group chat, the older members will be notified. New members get to see the previous conversation on the group chat. Only people who were added to the group chat by names, mobile number or email address or the group chat host can remove members from the group chat.
